CPR and First Aid Training - Thursday, April 26th in Tunkhannock
CPR and First Aid training in Tunkhannock, PA from 2-6 PM on Thursday, April 26th. Registration is required. Deadline to register is Thursday, April 19th. 


Cost:  FREE for NTHA members

Spotted Lanternfly Info Mtg. - Tues., May 1 - Honesdale 9:30 AM
REGISTRATION FOR THE 9:30 AM SESSION

NTHA and the Wayne Conservation District will hold two Spotted Lanternfly Informational Meetings for members of the forest product industry, townships and municipalities, and the general public in Honesdale, PA on May 1st. 

The first session at 9:30 AM is geared towards the forest product industry, townships and municipalities, and other businesses. There will be a testing session held by the PA Dept. of Ag following the training for those who will need permits/compliance agreements to do business/travel in the quarantine area in SE PA. Permits will be administered on-site for those who pass the test. Please be aware that the quarantine area could expand into our region. It is currently as far north as Monroe County. 

When: 1st Session: 9:30 - 11:30 AM. Testing afterwards. 
           2nd Session: 2:00 - 4:00 PM.

Game of Logging - Level 3 - Sat. May 19th in Lake Ariel, PA
Cost: $90/person
Location: 162 Beaver Run Lane, Lake Ariel, PA 18436

Level 3 focuses on techniques for handling difficult trees. Topics covered include limbing, height measurement, segment calculations, wedging techniques and hinge placement. The felling is done against the trees natural lean and participants also limb and buck using techniques demonstrated in level 2. 

NTHA members are eligible for 50% reimbursement after attending the class.

Game of Logging - Level 4 - Sun., May 20th in Lake Ariel, PA
Cost: $90/person
Location: 162 Beaver Run Lane, Lake Ariel, PA 18436

Level 4 focuses on ways to maximize a harvest plan for safety and productivity. Felling is practiced at working speed using all the techniques from previous levels. This level is geared towards the Professional Timber Harvester user group, but is relevant for all. 

NTHA members are eligible to receive 50% reimbursement after attending the course. Details Register

NTHA Meet and Greet in Pike Co. - Thursday, June 7th at 6 PM
The Northern Tier Hardwood Association (NTHA) cordially invites forest landowners and members of the forest industry to attend a "meet and greet" event with the board of directors on Thursday, June 7th at 6:00 PM at the Falls Pavilion at Promised Land State Park in Greentown, PA. (Pavilion is next to Promised Land Lake). We will enjoy a barbeque picnic provided by NTHA. This event is free, but reservations are required.

Guests will have an opportunity to speak with the board of directors, program manager, and other members, collect information, and learn about the associationís activities and new initiatives. We will discuss issues impacting our forests and the forest product industry, as well as how the association can better serve our region and growing membership.

Game of Logging - Closed classes for private groups
NTHA offers closed classes for private groups for up to 12 participants per class. NTHA will take care of scheduling the instructor, location, and all other logistics.
