With its abundant forests and lumber heritage, the Northern Tier region is known worldwide for the premier quality of its northern Appalachian hardwood lumber and related forest products. Our members are also committed to the long-term sustainability of the regionís forest resources and are actively involved in the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) as well as many other environmental initiatives.
Our membership includes over two-hundred forest products-related companies and organizations of all sizes. The online directory will help you locate suppliers of quality Pennsylvania hardwood lumber, flooring, veneer, logs, millwork, and forest management services. Northern Tier Hardwood Association members can also find services from local businesses who share the organizationís mission of supporting the long-term advancement of the regionís wood industry.
Northern Tier Hardwood Association provides a variety of member benefits that include industry-related workshops and training, grants in support of member expansions, regional marketing assistance, and advocacy to community leaders regarding the needs and benefits of the wood industry. In addition, NTHA sponsors a significant number of educational programs across the region as well as many major community events. We also maintain a scholarship program for the regionís students interested in pursuing post-secondary education related to the forest products industry. Northern Tier Hardwood Association welcomes new members throughout the year and we encourage you to contact us to learn more about the advantage of membership and how you can lend support to our mission of promoting the advancement of the regionís wood industry. NTHA is governed by an elected Board of Directors and receives funding from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvaniaís Hardwoods Development Council.
The NTHA serves as the regional form for the promotion of the wood industry and offers a wealth of services such as legislative involvement, job training programs, educational and safety workshops and trade show sponsorship. NTHA also offers assistance in the areas of marketing and promotion, funding, procurement, exporting, technical assistance, informational resources and referral services. Our newsletter is made available to all members.
Organizations and individuals from primary and secondary wood manufacturers and related service businesses, utility companies, economic development agencies, professional foresters, government officials, landowners, retail businesses, and all others committed to furthering the growth of the hardwood industry are welcomed and encouraged to become members of NTHA.
NTHA is committed to promoting a greater use of our areaís wood resources. NTHA intends to foster better communication and unity among all contributors to the wood industry.
